Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Conditions treated with Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine include:
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it’s recognized that a balance of qi (energy) is essential to health and harmony in the body. When this qi gets blocked or stagnated, the body’s lines of communication (meridians) weaken, and disease or pain can result. By unblocking this stagnation, the flow of energy gets restored, and the body can heal itself.
Acupuncture can bring the body into balance and assists in the healing process through the regulation of qi, blood and fluid in the body. This restores homeostasis to the body systems such as the immune, neurological, gastrointestinal & endocrine systems, relieving pain and regulating emotions.
Cupping is an ancient technique where a special cup is placed on the skin that’s held in place by suction. Cupping improves circulation and removes stagnant energy.
Moxibustion is the burning of mugwort herb, which warms and moves energy in the body’s meridians.
Chinese herbal medicine helps to strengthen and prolong the effects of your treatment. Depending on the patient’s symptoms and presentation, I may prescribe herbal treatment.
